A fairytale landscape of giant otters, birds, and flowers was designed specifically for terrazzo in this LEED-certified project. This wonderful 6,000 square-foot installation combines 21 cheerful colors of epoxy terrazzo, including playful otters in two distinct colors: subdued tones “underwater” and more vibrant tones above.
Metal work for the animals, some up to twelve feet in length, was water-jet cut in varying widths, designed to appear as brush strokes. The animated, engaging imagery opens an artistic dialogue with young patients.
